Getting your hair Wedding Day ready!

Welcome to the first of my blog posts on www.simonewhiteheadbridalhair.co.uk I thought we could start with some of the most important tips I can give you: how to get your hair in perfect condition for your wedding day.

It's very important to look after your hair in the run up to your wedding. Bridal hair styling can be heavy going; with lots of heat, hairspray and backcombing needed to achieve your desired look on the day. Hair that's in tip-top condition will be able to withstand this level of professional styling; and look beautiful and shiny in your wedding photographs.

Here are my top 3 tips for wedding hair preparation:

1) Have regular haircuts

Even if you're trying to grow your hair; having it trimmed regularly will get rid of any damaged or split ends and make sure that it's growing healthily. If left unattended; these unruly ends will spread, drying out and damaging your hair. Aim for a trim every 6-8 weeks.

2) Use a deep conditioning treatment

In the lead up to your wedding; you should use a deep conditioning treatment once a week to give your hair that little bit of extra nourishment. Apply the deep conditioning treatment and leave to work for anything from 5-20 minutes. Start these treatments a few months before your wedding day; and stop the week before.

3) Use heat protection

This is something that a lot of people either forget about; or don't think about at all. Every time you apply heat to your hair, be that with a hairdryer, straighteners, curling wand or hot rollers; the stress of styling can damage the hair shaft. To counteract this; you should always apply a good heat protection treatment to your hair before styling. There are lots of excellent sprays and creams on the market and at a range of prices to fit any budget.
